With the lockdown we have all been experiencing, there has been much debate about going out of the house. It has become quite the moral quandary among many. However, in my family’s case. We just couldn’t stay inside.Enter, the “Super Secret Fishing Spot.”
It’s a spot my boyfriend Alex has gone to for years, and is breathtaking, if I am really being honest. It smells like heaven, has so many diverse nature things, like a tree struck by lightning, cool cinder rocks, trees that grow out of a side of an enclave above a gorgeous stream, and of course, many small fishies to catch and release. The breeze, fresh air, and seclusion made this place an ideal one for social distancing. (Which is why I will keep it super secret in this post.)
With staying home, I found my kids, who are 11 and 13, on their screens much more than I care to admit. So fishing became the perfect activity to get all of us some fun, keeping them focused and bonding along the way. I cannot express enough the joy it brought to us, even with a little too much sun, and the dirt and bugs I may never get off my car.
Still, thank you, “Super Secret Fishing Spot!” Your secret is safe with us.
